West Side Partnership: Frequently Asked Questions
The West Side Partnership (WSP) is a Special Improvement District (SID) serving the West Side Avenue commercial corridor in Jersey City. We work to improve the quality of life and economic vitality of the district through enhanced maintenance, beautification, business support, and community programming.
WSP supplements City services with:
- Street cleaning and trash removal
- Graffiti removal and pressure washing
- Seasonal landscaping and planter installations
- District lighting and holiday décor
- Small business support and marketing assistance
- Public safety coordination through partnerships like Omega Security
- Special events and community programming
WSP is funded through a special assessment paid by commercial property owners within the SID boundary. These funds directly support services and programs that improve the district for businesses, residents, and visitors alike.
The Partnership is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of local stakeholders—including property owners, business owners, and residents—who meet regularly to guide the district’s goals and programs.
Board meetings are open to the public, and meeting minutes and budget summaries are shared regularly. If you’re interested in attending a meeting or becoming more involved, please email hello@publicspaces.com.
The West Side Partnership offers a Storefront/Façade Grant to help local businesses improve their signage or exterior appearance. To view current guidelines and apply, please visit the Funding Opportunities tab on this website.
Inside West Side is our spotlight series showcasing businesses along the West Side Avenue corridor. If you’d like your business to be featured, email hello@publicspaces.com with your name, business info, and a few photos—we’d love to highlight you!
We share updates regularly through email and social media. Follow us and join our mailing list to stay connected with what’s happening in the district.
